I thought that you just learned to deal with really nasty, dirty, stiff halters. Do you ever have certain things that seem to gnaw at you and you put it off so many times not doing anything about it? That was my relationship with halters and getting them cleaned up.
We were doing spring cleaning in our barn - or maybe I should say spring excavating. The amount of dust and cobwebs and mouse droppings were astonishing! I really wish I would I have gotten a before picture of the whole scene but when I decide to jump in and do something I usually forget about pulling out the camera. I decided I had to do something about those halters. I'd heard you could spray them off with the hose but clearly, since it's winter I have no hoses available. In our day and age how do you usually go about cleaning something? The washer of course! I threw those babies into our washer along with some old towels and foal blankets. I pulled them out an hour later and they looked brand new! I let them air dry and they are now soft, pliable and so pretty!
The simple things that can put a smile on your face!
