I don't think there is one project on our farm that we've done without the use of recycled materials in one form or other. Our tree house, bench swing, chicken coop, planter boxes, bike rack and many more have all been done with scrap materials. It's a great way to save a little money as well as keep our creative juices flowing.
I have been wanting to build a little shed to house our goats in order to have a separate pen for them. The goats and the donkeys tolerate each other, but they definitely don't like each other. We have one goat with horns and he has been getting much more aggressive towards the donkeys. It is only a matter of time before he does some serious damage.
I was at my sister's home and she was getting ready to do some projects, one of which involved the taking down of some fence panels from her back deck. No plans for those lovely wood panels? I can for sure take those off your hands!
A few nails and screws later...
We added some roof beams (again using scrap wood that we got from our neighbor's shed demolition)...
Metal siding and ta-dah! Not super aesthetically appealing, but functional and completely free!
Can't wait to get the goats moved in! In the next little while it may become the new home of a new jack...
