With every cute and cuddly creature comes that not so fun clean up work. Actually, we are grateful for the manure that is produced because we compost it and then spread it on our large garden area, spread it around our fruit trees and sprinkle it throughout our flower beds. When we purchased our donkeys, we just dumped the manure in the formerly created pile area that was from the previous owners. I didn't like how it was open access to the donkeys so we decided to build bins to more easily contain it and to keep the donkeys out of it.
We had some leftover pieces of tin from a shed demo job and put it to good use.
We added a t-post on the back end and then planted a railroad tie on the other end. We are planning to attach gates to the railroad ties to be able to close off the bins completely.
For now, it is working wonderfully and helps keeps things more manageable. It's good stuff when it's contained and worked right. If you don't need to use all of this, you can sell it or just give it away!
