Hallelujah is here! This is our new little spring foal and we call her Little Lu.
I had been observing Serenity's pregnant state of being each day and she was still a week out from her due date. I'm not a huge believer in due dates but it at least gives me something to go by. This particular day, I took a look at her udder and something just said, "She's ready!"
That evening, we put her in her own stall and made sure our little camera was connected to our phones and working.
At 2:30 a.m., my husband shook me awake and said I probably ought to go check on Serenity. I gathered some towels and things and got out to the barn just in time to see a little muzzle and hooves coming! The only thing I had to do was remove the sack from the foals face and everything else happened the way it was supposed to. Serenity is the perfect mama and knows just what to do. The foal was up and trying to walk within ten minutes. Since it was dark, we looked and thought the gender was a little jack but come to find out later, a jenny!
She is a lovely dark brown and so mellow. It is truly amazing to see the birthing process happen and unfold the way it was intended to. We are so grateful that everything went well and we are loving our little Hallelujah! She will be for sale so look for her on our foals page!
