Bathroom Remodel

It is finally done! We have been working on remodeling our main bathroom for several weeks now. Like most projects, we ran in to complications and had some setbacks which drew the process into a very long ordeal. But now, it is in working order and looks amazing!

BEFORE

This bathroom was covered in this textured, wall paper design paneling. There was no way to paint it so it all had to come down. We kept the vanity but gave the drawers and cupboard a face-lift. I'll let the photos do most the talking here.

The mirror cabinet had to go along with the light fixtures. When we tore the paneling off, we exposed a hidden window! I actually still need to finish this window but right now it lets in natural light and works fine. Behind the tub surround was some one inch tile squares that I was hoping to refinish but when we took the surround off, the tiles came crumbling down. We needed a new tub surround.

The linoleum flooring ended up being two layers and after a long process of tearing both out, we found the sub floor in rough shape. Rather than replace the sub floor, we decided to paint it with a water sealer paint. I gave the drawers and cabinet and Shaker look update by adding thin plywood strips around the edges.

Now for the after...

Ta-dah! The flooring is luxury vinyl planks that are quite simple to use and install.

I found the mirror at Hobby Lobby and used my 40% off coupon. It was an awesome deal! The wall color is Sherwin Williams Sea Salt and the vanity color is Sherwin Williams Naval.

I ended up painting the faucets rather than spending and arm and a leg on new fixtures. Our old ones still worked fine so I felt like adding a different color factor would be good enough!

Even though it isn't centered with the mirror (that is where the electrical box was located) I absolutely love the new light fixture!

Again, here is the before picture...

And after!

I feel like it is quite a change and I am loving it!
